Catering Tenders

The Sutherland Agricultural Society Show is inviting tenders for outdoor catering for the show to be held at Dornoch Links on Saturday 21st July 2018

The aim of the tendering process it to ensure there is a variety of food available to the public and that this food is of high quality whilst being reasonably priced.

The Show Society anticipates selecting from 6-8 businesses for catering sites, to be determined once all tenders have been submitted and assessed.

In recent years the show has had 4-5000 people come through the gate and the committee continues to work hard to build on this and develop a sustainable future for the show.

Businesses should note that the Society runs a sit down food and tea tent which serves approximately 200 meals.

The Taste of the Wilderness marquee is designed to showcase local producers selling a variety of food products. The food sold in this marquee is not intended to compete with the take away, ready to eat, food sold at the outdoor outlets placed around the show field.

Livestock judging commences at 9:30am and main ring entertainment starts at 12pm. Stalls are not permitted to pack up until 4:30pm.

The Sutherland Show will clash with the Caithness Show in 2018.

Tenders will be assessed on the following criteria –

    • Type and quality of food provided
    • Pricing of Food
    • Price tendered
    • Provenance – local producers favoured
    • Size and nature of unit

The Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any applications considered unsuitable to their aims and objectives.

Businesses should ensure they have suitable facilities and certification to meet Food Safety standards as required by The Highland Council.  More information is available from the Highland Council www.highland.gov.uk or the Food Standards Agency www.food.gov.uk/business-industry/caterers.

Applications for tenders close on Wednesday 28th February.

All tenders will be informed in writing as to whether they have been successful. This will be done as soon as possible after the closing date. 
If your tender is accepted, payment will be required within 30 days of receiving your acceptance letter.
